    This series follows Daine, an orphan girl with an awesome gift to talk to animals. Daine grows throughout the series as she learns more about her powers and abilities, which are often times shunned. The books set up a world that is very believable with strong religion, culture and politics established in detail. It's exciting to read as a young teen because I think everyone wishes they could talk to animals. Nov 21

    A series of three books I thoroughly enjoyed as a young reader of fantasy. The stories are about parallel universes and the "Chrestomanci," the powerful magician, who goes between the worlds regulating magic in them. Unlike regular people who have parallels in other dimensions, the Chrestomanci does not and he/she is tasked with training a successor. Fun to read an makes you think about time and the universe.     An amazing futuristic Sci-Fi story that's great for teens. Young people of special talent are recruited to a school where they train to become future fleet commanders against the alien invasion.     This software that comes with MacOSX is one of my favorites. I have a lot of fun with it making crazy warped images with the web cam and it's also great when I just need to take a quick web cam shot. No hassle. Nov 21

    This software has been really helpful for me recording sound coming from my Mac. You can set it so it will only recording the sound coming from your Mac and not pick up what's going through the mic or set it for both. Works well with Skype and other conversation software. You could do a Podcast really easily with this software with many people in different parts of the world. Nov 21

    This is one of the coolest Apps I have. It organizes all of your recipes and allows you to easily add ones you find on the web. One of my favorite features is "Cook" it will fill your screen with the ingredients list and instructions and when you play it will read the recipe to you. It's also voice activated so you don't have to touch your computer with messy hands. This is MUST HAVE software for anyone who cooks. Jan 29
