Klepon - "Based on Philip K Dick’s novel “Do Androids Dream of Electronic Sheep?”, this tense cyberpunk (well, kind of) movie about a world where androids called Replicants are almost indistinguishable from humans is fantastic, though obviously not the sort of thing for lifting your mood! Harrison Ford is superb as Deckard, a Bladerunner (what the agents who eliminate rogue Replicants are called) who is called out of retirement to deal with a small group that have hijacked a shuttle craft and brought it to earth…" (link to entry)
J. Abdul-Qahhar - "Of the 5 or so versions of this film, the one I love the most is the original; the one with the voice over. I have always been a fan of Detective stories and that first version of the film where Deckards narration is used plot device gave the movie a kind of "Mickey Spillane's Mike Hammer" vibe that when set against that dirty, cramped, used vision of the future, really worked. Laurence Gonsalves - "It's very common for movies based on books to be not-so-faithful to the original. What isn't common is for the movie to actually surpass the book it was based upon. Blade Runner has only a passing similarity to "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep", but is easily one of my favorite science fiction movies of all time." (link to entry)
Paul Jacobson - "I am sure I watched this with my dad when it came out. It influenced my imagination for many years afterwards and as dated as it is today, it remains one of the best sci-fi movies ever made. The subsequent revisions arguably improve the experience so be sure to watch the latest re-releases too." (link to entry)
Christian Surname - "Brilliant mixture of film noir and science fiction. Atmosphere so thick you could pave a road with it. This is one of those films you can watch a dozen times and not get bored of. Even a confusing and slightly muddled plot doesn't stop this from being one of the best films of all time." mike ho - "I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe.
Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..." (link to entry)
Pipedreamergrey - "One of the few science fiction films to be based on a book that actually contributed something to the legacy of that book. The visuals of this film are unparalleled in cinema despite all the advances of CG technology. " (link to entry)
Bo Stern - "This is my all time favorite movie, ever since it came out. Ridley Scott is a genious of a director. This is a case where the movie is much better than the book. I have probably seen this movie upwards of 50 times." (link to entry)
Mike Elliott - "This movie is a science fiction classic - directed by Ridley Scott, starring Harrison Ford in his prime, and featuring a dark, surreal vision of the future - it's 80s science fiction at its best." (link to entry)
Nenad Ristic - "Although only vagually connected with the novel it was supposedly based on ("Do Androids Dream of electric Sheep"), I love this move, it gives a wonderfully dystopian view of the future" (link to entry)
Judy ~J~ - "I love sci-fi and this is classic sci-fi at it's best. If you haven't seen it because it's older than you, let me tell you, you need to rent it!
(Harrison Ford will look SO young!)" (link to entry)
Lorin Olsen - "This is one of the most thought-provoking sci-fi movies in a generation. It's style has been copied for the past two decades. Its storyline is still an unsolved mystery." (link to entry)
jeremy.whitaker - "A rare gem. There really hasn't been anything as luscious since. You'd think with all our technological advancements...wait...it couldn't be the Vangelis could it? ;)" (link to entry)
Jackie Blackman - ""Blade Runner" is on my top ten list of all time favorites. Ridley Scott took this sci fi movie to another plateau with it's stunning visuals and feel." (link to entry)
Michael Day - "Having become a classic Sci-Fi movie, this film is worth seeing for its sets alone, but asks challenging questions about what it means to be human." (link to entry)
amir eshel - "Deckard, a blade runner, has to track down and terminate 4 replicants who hijacked a ship in space and have returned to earth seeking their maker." (link to entry)
jesper isaksson - "There is so much beauty in this movie it almost hurts. Even if shot some 25 years ago it is still one of my favorite sci-fi flicks of all time." (link to entry)
Nick Watts - "Very different in many ways from Dick's novel (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), but equally gripping. The Director's Cut. Obviously." (link to entry)
Phil - "This movie is different from any film I have ever seen. An amazing melding of hard science fiction and gritty realism." (link to entry)
Matt Tuley - "Can't watch too often, because it is quite grim, really. But it still stands as one of the greatest films ever made." (link to entry)
