magneticartmaster - Great movie, special effects, entertaining, cool story. At some points I felt I was back to where I started. Sometimes they look like a bunch of scrap metal put together that resembles a robot. I like the simpler looking transformers from the 80s. But Avatar was my favorite for 2009.

I agree, one of the best movies of all time. The story is enjoyable by all age groups. It's got giants, princesses, sword fights, and more. It's high adventure, dark humor, larger than life characters and sense of fun make this movie a great interpretation of the book. Good for couples too as the romance is a key facet of the movie plot. from tojosan - liked from vcfreak's entry

I was amazed by the quality of the animation when this came out. They were really pushing the boundaries and starting to use computers to help support complex and detailed scenes. I loved the story. I actually spent about six months as an eleven year old typing the entire story from memory into an old computer from the 80s... it must have been nearly 40 thousand words by the time I got distracted... from fishoutoforder - liked from himenokuri's entry

Serenity picks up seamlessly where the short-lived TV series "Firefly" left off. Whedon does such an amazing job that you don't need to watch the TV show to completely understand character history or dynamics. Finally, we get to see what sort of ass-kicking River Tam (Summer Glau) has up her sleeve! Between the Reavers and multi-talented Chiwetel Ejiofor (Children of Men), and you've got more than enough antagonistic goodness to power the movie to an action-packed and fulfilling ending! from jakeclark

Spirited Away is yet another masterpiece from Hayao Miyazaki. The story tells the tale of Chihiro as she is separated from her family and must wander through the bathhouse of the gods. The major themes of Spirited Away center on Chihiro and her journey from being a spoiled child towards becoming a being of power and grace. Through her love and compassion, she is able to heal wounds and restore goodness to many of the trapped souls in this story. from cyclingroo

It was a great story too, a real epic film which really showcased the bravery and battle skills of those men who would rather die than be slaves. I liked the touch of wry humour from the King of the Spartans in the film too, where he tells the Persian Emperor that the Spartan women could have beaten the warriors that had been sent against them so far :) from debsw - liked from quick24's entry

Post-apocalyptic science fiction with alien but humanoid talking cats and ancient Egyptian demons: there's no way this would be made today.     Endlessly provocative, I love the questions this movie begs. Silence is as compelling as the music and dialogue. The modernist production design offers a backdrop of prevailing optimism to a narrative that is at times opaque and grim and yet ultimately inspiring. from juliangomez - liked from cyclingroo's entry

Not one of Tarantino's best.Nevertheless a very good movie. You can see all the hallmarks of Tarantino in this movie - the attention to detail, the dialogue, the interesting characters, the way the movie is a collection of great scenes. Brad Pitt is good, the german colonel better. A MUST WATCH from bindu
