because my sons have been playing this card game for MANY years and taught my 8 yr old daughter. Instead of sitting in front of a TV, they create strategies with this card game and draw pictures of the characters. When I first learned about Pokemon 9 yrs ago I was an instant hater. Now I realize the strategy involved and it's sooo much better than mindless video games.
from thedailyblonde thedailyblonde - my 3 youngest love it and have been playing for a long time. They devise strategies, make up stories, etc etc. We go to a league once a month and they trade, talk, enjoy lunch together. Love it in the middle of the winter when they can't go outside.
gypsylibrarian - I got hooked because my daughter plays the game. I mostly collect the cards. I like some of the episodes too.
This book scared me when I was a kid, but it scared me in the best possible way. I think it is OK to be scared sometimes so kids can figure out how to deal with that fear. This book helps teach coping skills as well as providing a fantasy adventure.

My fifth grade teacher read this book to our class and I've never been the same. This book engendered in me a love of science fiction and fantasy that remains strong to this day.

I feel that parents need to take their children at least 1 time to an animal shelter. It will help instill compassion and respect for the pets they already have.

Read all about Alexander's difficult day. This is a wonderful bedtime story to start conversations with your child about days when things go wrong and how to deal with them. K-6

I'll love you forever. I'll love you for always. As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.
Wonderfully reassuring bedtime story that can also be a part of a unit study on human growth and development.

Collection of Shel Silverstein poems guaranteed to delight any child! My favorite were 'Sick' and 'The Sitter'. I think both are in this book, but then again, I had most of his books. If they aren't in this one, then they are in 'A Light in the Attic' another collection of poems by this author.

She's a brilliant actress, producer and director. Every role becomes her own. As Clarissa, she played beautifully off of Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. As a little side note, my mother went to school with her mom.
