Family Guy is one of the best shows on television today. While the episodes may not have a concrete or in depth plot it is always funny. The random tangents that appear as random clips are always funny. Another thing is family guy isn't afraid to poke fun at things such as race and religion which have become way to protected in todays media. from xoakley

Alec Baldwin in this show has begun to approach Shatner-esque levels of comedy gold. While there are certainly other characters that make the show shine for me Jack is outright hysterical. from mameiac - liked from bohopenguin's entry

Occasionally touches a raw nerve, but more often will just punch the stereotypes right in the face. Fantastic. The "Return of the King" episode is, quite rightly, considered one of the best bits of animated satire ever. from macro1970 - liked from killar's entry

I was introduced to Monty Python a bit later than I would have liked, but once I was in, I was FULLY in. Amazing levels of genius in this. So many different layers to their humor. Many might argue, but if you watch closely there are subtle hints and layers throughout. from norrathreaver - liked from citizenrobot's entry

A classic indeed. When people look back, say 50 years from now, they will still remember Chappelle. I love the blind black white supremacist skit. Oh gosh, and the Haters traveling back in time. It is a pity he did not go on. from gypsylibrarian - liked from benmargolin's entry

Saturday Night Live has a show on Thursdays called "Weekend Update". It is a 30 min satire on the week's events and it's usually hilarious. This week they had a spoof about Obama doing all those TV interviews but ignoring fox it was hilarious. Check it out on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/watch/9799... from bindu

I remember liking this when I read it years ago. The tale of aviators trying to get out of bombing runs by claiming they were crazy was the perfect Catch-22. If you flew, you must be crazy, therefore it is ok to fly. But we do not want crazy people flying, which is dangerous, and so on. This may be another one to revisit soon. from gypsylibrarian

When this movie was released in 1999, I didn't even attempt to watch it. It just didn't seem like something I would want to see. But a few years ago, this movie was in a list of topics for me to choose from to write an essay on in college..so I chose it. I'm glad I chose it because the movie is actually interesting...it's deep. I've watched it several times, and now it is one of my faves. from theintriguing1

To make it worse ... Major "King" Kong rides it like a rodeo cowboy .. not unlike the 'bring 'em on mentality ... The really scary part (or fun part depending on how you look at it) is the phone conversation with the Russian premier who is drunk ..yikes!

Best line from this movie where Aaron Echkart's character is explaining to his son why he does his job: "Got to pay the mortgage" is now one of my favorite movie lines which I use in normal conversation :) from arvind - liked from gaurav_roy's entry
luanne, clayco, jbbdude, frosty and 7 other people liked this entry
spider - The "Got to pay the mortgage" argument to justify vile actions reminds me of Yuri in the movie 'Lord of War'. There he says things like "It's their conflict", "I'd like it if they use my arms but I prefer if they miss", "I'm good at it" and so on. Many different tactics to justify their actions.
aindrila - Fabulous script. Some really memorable discussions between father and son on the differences of argument and negotiation.
jbbdude - Most brilliant film ever. Lobbying, politics, back-room dealings, sex, action, comedy... everything you could possibly want in a film.
luanne - great satire
