I was living in London when Proud Mary was top of the charts and it takes me back to when I was young and life was ahead of me. Now I look back it was wonderful.

went to see these guys in concert almost against my will but enjoyed the music so much that I was playing their cd constantly for the next year.

Personally, I think they are one of the best American Bands ever. They are like fine wine. They get better with age.
from cozmo topchef7 - Southern rock that is timeless
I love 3 door. They are a great band who can sing me a melody when I am broken. "Here without" is one of my favorite song.

They call him the "Father of Grunge". Neil was very popular in the 1970s. My fave songs include "Four Strong Winds" and "Heart of Gold". He was also a former member of the act "Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young".

Not usually my taste in music, but I like it a lot! I really loved the interview he had with Larry King. He schooled Larry on the importance of stripper poles, HA!
from chrissy earthquest - I really dig his music.
SRV is, in my opinion, the greatest blues/rock guitarist in history. If not the greatest guitarist period. His music inspired me to pick up the guitar. And he had such a great personality like no other musician had.
I sometimes wonder what music would be like today if he was still alive.

Derek Trucks is the nephew of Butch Trucks, drummer for The Allman Brothers band. That's his familial link to ABB and Duane Allman, but he has taken the laurels as one of the greatest guitar players in history. Jazz heads, take note.

Creedence Clearwater Revival's Greatest Hits. This is the only CCR release I think I've ever bought. But I've bought it a number of times over the years.
from cbellevie ghoster - I saw CCR back in the late 60's. They rocked!
One of my favorite band, Did you know they came from Jacksonville, Florida my home town.

This is essential listening for any music lover, southern rock head, bluesmonkey or jazz aficionado. Duane Allman passed away much too early in life.
