Arf! Just watched this on a plane flying from Taiwan to Japan. I was ready to be disappointed, but I wasn't. Nice blend of humour, exploding things, drama and romance - in perfect keeping with the originals. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure not to see the official trailers. They give everything away. Oh, and for old skool people like me, there's even some phoney bouncing plastic boulders... and the baddies are still REAL bad. from johnnobi

mastababa - Surprisingly and extremely entertaining.
sonika - One of the best movies I have seen last year. @johnnobi don't know why you thought you would be disappointed

I love this movie and watch it probably once a year as the seasons turn from fall to winter. Depp managed to be wonderfully innocent, highly quirky, and terrifically funny throughout the movie. Lay Burton's homage or possibly poking of fun at classic Americana suburbia and you have a thoroughly enjoyable fairy tale. from mameiac

chrissy - Edward managed to be so tender with those Krueger-like hands. A very endearing character.
charlieman - The suburb really exists, Lakeland, Florida--I lived there for a short while. The shopping center was on Florida Ave and the restaurant was closed and out of business but across the street from the shopping center and they opened it for filming.  ... read more -
shuantia - This movie makes me a little sad the way they treated him especially when he got locked inside that house, lol.
terricalatrice - Comedy, Action, Sad. All of the above. Overall, Interesting and 4 out of 5 stars maybe.

Ah, the "ghost with the most". Love the movie for its extremely quirky characters, bizarre vision of the afterlife, and for Michael Keaton just killing it every second he is on screen. Kudos! from mameiac

I only have a sense of this movie too after watching it so long ago - I know I thought it was good and kind of like a "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest" for girls - Jolie is good at these troubled characters isn't she? from debsw - liked from bindu's entry

Dear diary, my teen-angst bullshit now has a body count. Everybody's sad...but it's kind of a weird kind of sad. Suicide gave Heather depth, Kurt a soul, and Ram a brain. I don't know what it's given me, but I have no control over myself when I'm with J.D. Are we going to prom or to hell? from madmojo - liked from ceidotorg's entry

A great film adaptation of Philip K Dick's novel of the same name. It's directed by Richard Linklater (Waking Life) and has a unique style: digitally shot but then animated which adds to the surreal feel that's an intrinsic part of the plot itself ... from spider

mden2013 - Trippy rotoscoping adds to the surreality of this adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel.
cless - A Scanner Darkly is a movie that keeps you guessing till the end. It is a pretty unique looking movie thanks to the rotoscoping done to the film in editing. Another great Philip K. Dick story turned into a great movie!

Small town guy Longfellow Deeds is the living descendant of a recently passed multibillionaire. Babe wants the inside scoop so she poses as a school teacher to win his favor. Where as her favor in him is won. The corporation meanwhile is trying to wrangle the money away from him. It's kind of a the good shall prevail kind of movie. It's also very very sneaky. from robyn

Director Al Pacino's spoiled leading lady walks off his movie. He makes the movie with a CGI construct, Simulation One. This saves money but he has to then account for her shyness, inability to do face-to-face interviews, etc. Later he's accused of murdering her. Movie makes comments on fame, Hollywood. Lovely Rachel Roberts plays S1m0ne as (apparently) SAG wouldn't go for a genuine CGI character. from chasb

The Crucible somehow stays relevant to current politics through the years, although Miller wrote it for a specific time period. from pen4hire

One of Martin Scorsese's lesser known works, but one that any film buff will surely enjoy. An all-star cast (Day Lewis, Pfeiffer, Ryder) and an all-star performance. from bruegelboy

I'm a sucker for movies that have multiple independent stories and have the power to connect them all. Plus it's Jarmusch, he can't go wrong in my book. from madmojo

The story was sweet and may be considered a "chick-flick", but definitely likeable. I would have been touched, if all the women in my family had lovingly constructed a quilt to celebrate my wedding. from chrissy
